Spider: The
Secret of
Bryce Manor
Illustrated Backgrounds for Award Winning iPhone Game

I have the priviledge and honor to be a part of Tiger Style, the studio responsible for the critically acclaimed Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor.  I was the first level artist on board, and was integral in establishing the style and best practices that allowed the hand painted backgrounds to be generated in a timely manner.

Traditional Illustration

To keep my illustration skills fresh, I paint live models in acrylic and do personal illustration projects.

The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning

One of the most enjoyable projects in my career was doing 2d digitally painted backgrounds a Spyro game on the Nintendo DS.  We printed out the level boundaries and pencil sketched our background art over this, which we then scanned into our computers and painted up in Photoshop.

During pre-production at smaller game studios, the production artists are given a chance to do concept art. As I work in 3d most of the time, it is a great chance to hone mypainting skills.

Backgrounds
for Animation
Boxer Story and The Ted Zone

These digitally illustrated backgrounds are for animated films of Lance Myers. The Ted Zone was a series for Adult Swim's (now defunct) animation website SuperDeluxe.  I did several backgrounds for each of the 6 episodes.  The Boxer Story backgrounds are from his upcoming self and crowd funded short film Boxer Story.
